“We come from a dark abyss, we end in a dark abyss, and we call the luminous interval life.”

Nikos Kazantzakis

An artist’s persistent search for an adequate way of expression, in terms of material, medium and method, encourages him/ her to experiment. Balasaheb N. Chaudhari followed the same path and lately found a new way of his artistic expressions. Reverse painted acrylic sheets are heated and put together layer after layer to create a piece of fluid narrative. Balasaheb’s work captures the evanescent moments those our lives are composed with.

Since 2014 since the recent one at Dhoomimal Art Centre, New Delhi (2019) Balaseb has five solo shows to his credit. The first solo show was at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal which was followed by Meandering Metamorphosis at Triveni Art Gallery, New Delhi (2015), Frozen Shadows-1 at Art Entrance Gallery, Mumbai (2016) and Frozen Shadows-2 at Pradarshak Art Gallery, Mumbai (2017). His works are in the collections of Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, Kalavartnyas, Ujjain and Stephen Perkins, USA.
